SmartCents is powered by student volunteers who believe financial education should be accessible to everyone. There are two ways to join the mission.

What Volunteers Do
As the heart of SmartCents, volunteers work directly with students to build their financial future through engaging, collaborative sessions.
- Complete a one-month initial training program to become a certified volunteer.
- Co-facilitate interactive SmartCents lessons alongside peers and Bank of America professionals.
- Maintain a reliable presence at all scheduled community events and workshops.
- Act as a motivating role model and mentor for younger program participants.
- Note: Current opportunities are specifically for Miami-based students.
What Chapter Founders Do
Founders lead growth outside Miami by bringing SmartCents to their own cities to create local impact.
- Act as the primary leader and point of contact for a local school or city chapter.
- Recruit, train, and manage a dedicated team of student volunteers.
- Coordinate all teaching sessions and schedules with the SmartCents executive board.
- Foster professional relationships with community partners and school administrators.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine curriculum and track student impact.
All applicants will be reviewed and contacted within 5–7 business days.
